Fábrica Mexicana picture gallery at PortaVoz

After last week's opening, mexican art, design and architecture blog PortaVoz has published an extensive picture gallery of the Fabrica Mexicana exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City. Exhibition: Fábrica Mexicana at MAM

The Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City curated the exhibition "Mexican Design Factory" featuring Molcaware, Choose your bullets and the Mesas Arcanas made for last year's exhibition at ADN Gallery. It is a great recognition to be included in this important selection of Mexican design together with renown designers like Ariel Rojo, Eos México, Emiliano Godoy and other projects like Agent, Le Porc Shop, and Innovando la Tradición. The opening of "Fabrica Mexicana" will occur during Mexico City's Design Week and the exhibition will remain open until early 2012, so be sure to check it out.

Plataforma: Designing Monterrey

This months edition of Plataforma Monterrey features Ictali in a spread dedicated to creative studios based in the city. I am excited to be part of this design special together with other young projects that range from graphic, branding and editorial design, to fashion and industrial design.

Looking down the barrel of creativity at Core77

First edition of Mesas Arcanas

Galería ADN sent some pictures of the first edition of our Mesas Arcanas before being shipped. This is the final design (chromed) of the prototype shown at the "Identity and Dialogue of Mexican Design" exhibition during 2010's Mexico City Design Week.

Travesias: mexican design guide

Mexico’s Travesias magazine has feature my profile at their Mexican Design Guide special written by curator Ana Elena Mallet. Designers and studios from different cities in Mexico such as Ariel Rojo, Cecilia Leon de la Barra, Eos México, Hector Esrawe, Omellete, Pirwi among others give a clear perspective of the design panorama throughout the country. Cantera: Mexican Design Exhibition

CENTRO, school for design, film and television in Mexico City, has put together an exhibition titled "Cantera" where my design "Choose your Bullets" was featured. This exhibition shares CENTRO's ongoing investigation about Mexican Design, with the purpose of promoting the creative work being done by designers in our country. It will be open for all public for the next month at CENTRO.

Going to Japan!

I have been selected by Mexico's Conacyt and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as on of 3 designers to participate in the Modern Design and Traditional Craftmanship fellowship program. From March to November 2011, I will be living and working in Japan developing a personal project at the Kyoto Institute of Technology.

"ADN: Identity and Dialogue of design in Mexico" Exhibition

This exhibition was organized by Gallery ADN and exhibited during the Mexico City Design Week. I was selected as part of the group of twelve designers that were invited to pick an object of the gallery's vintage catalogue as inspiration to create a new piece of their own, creating a dialogue between old and new design in Mexico. My final design, the "Mesas Arcanas" is now being produced as a limited edition commercialized by the gallery. more information on their website.

Talento Local exhibition at Design Week Monterrey

As part of CEDIM's Design Week Monterrey, Toc Toc curated "Talento Local" an exhibition about the work of young talents working in Monterrey. A special black edition of my Choose your bullets design and a prototype of “Molcaware” were selected amongst other projects by graphic, interior, fashion designers, architects, visual artists, and other creatives in this exhibition open to all public during the event.

Molcaware awarded a Special Prize by Tupperware Brands Mexico

A year after winning a 3rd place at the design contest organized by Tupperware Brands Mexico with my “Molcaware” project, I was invited to visit their factory in Toluca. Besides an incredible tour through the factory lines, I was given a special prize due to Tupperware's interest in further developing my design for a possible market introduction in the future.

ICSID Interdesign Monterrey "Design Avenue"

The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) partnered with the Tec de Monterrey to organize an Interdesign Workshop held this past 11-23 of October in Monterrey. I was selected to participate with Designers that came from around the globe under the "Design Avenue" brief. After two intense weeks of fieldwork, concept development, the results were presented through renders and mockups that propose various solutions for Monterrey's transportation system. It was a pleasure to work with designers from all kinds of backgrounds and under the guidance of my team's project leader Ignacio Urbina Polo from Venezuela.
