PROFILE

Jorge Diego Etienne (Tampico, 1983) is a highly motivated Industrial Designer from Mexico with a global perspective on design. He has experienced design at many levels and through alternative perspectives with studies at renown design schools like Central Saint Martins in London, Domus Academy in Milan, and Parsons the New School for Design in New York. Jorge Diego has workshoped with companies like Alessi, Whirlpool, Vitra, Cemex and ICSID's Interdesign and in 2008 interned at Amasterdam's Feiz Design Studio, where he worked on projects for companies like Nokia and Herman Miller. Jorge Diego graduated with a BS in Industrial Design from the Tec de Monterrey in 2009.

In 2011 he participated in the exchange program ''Modern Design and Traditional Craftsmanship'' organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Kyoto, Japan where he researched and experimented with the intersection of cultural objects with contemporary products.

His studio in Monterrey, Mexico specializes in product design, furniture design and strategic consultancy for companies in Mexico and abroad. His products bring design into daily routines, combining cultural factors and technology, creating memorable experiences for every user. Jorge Diego has developed a variety of projects for companies like Tupperware Brands Mexico, created furniture for the design galleries ADN and Ediciones Jalapa in Mexico City, and commercialized self-produced objects sold in design stores around the world. The studio handles the creative direction of office furniture company Ofimodul and stainless steel products Acixs.

Jorge Diego's work has been featured at important design exhibitions such as "Fabrica Mexicana" at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in Mexico City, contemporary Art/Design fair Zona Maco and has been widely published around the world. He teaches at Monterrey's CEDIM and is a frequent guest lecturer at other design schools in Mexico.
